As we age the DNA in our cells lose segments of adenine at the ends. This occurs because our cells are constantly dividing. Once the segments of adenine are all gone, the DNA in that cell starts to lose segments that are necessary for life, and the cell dies because it can no longer function properly. The solution is to get an enzyme called adenine ligase into the nucleus of the cell, so it can reattach the segements of adenine. Once the segments are reattached, your DNA is protected again, so it can continue to divide for many more years. Another aspect of aging is that our cells have a maximum age. It's not that your cells would not function longer normally, it's that there is a sequence in our DNA that tells the cell to release harmful digestive chemicals that will disolve the cells in our body from the inside out. This date is said to be around 130 years of age. Right now we don't have a problem with it, but as people start to live longer, it would prevent people from living longer than about 130 years old. The way to overcome this problem is to replace the segment of DNA that causes the lysosomes to burst. Once we do that, there will no longer be a limit on how long we could live. Hormone levels also play a key role in aging. As levels of HgH decrease, cells don't replace themselves as fast and aging occurs as the percentage of living cells in your organs and tissues decrease. HgH stands for human growth hormone and is controlled by sugar levels in the body. We all need a certain amount of blood sugar to remain active and happy, but when sugar levels spike, HgH stops being produced and an aging phase occurs. This means things like soda and anything with high sugar content will age you each time you drink or eat it. There is no doubt that our bodies need carbs to perform at a high level, so I suggest we alter the feedback loop of high blood sugar turning off HgH by making the receptors at the pituitary gland slightly less sensitive to increases in blood sugar with age. This is necessary because the pituitary gland produces less HgH over time, and it could be safely regulated by medicine. Doctors would just slightly increase the dosage to maintain healthy HgH levels in the body. The pituitary gland producing less HgH over time is also controlled by DNA, so a sequence could be replaced to keep HgH levels constant with age and not be effected by sugar levels. Another key factor in aging are things that most people know about like clean air, healthy, non-contaminated food, preventing sickness and injury, regular exercise, avoiding sun exposure, staying away from dangerous chemicals and getting enough sleep. Ionizers are a great way to keep the air cleaner in your home. It would also be smart to have wood floors instead of carpet, making sure there is good ventilation in your house and prevent the dust in your matress and pillows from getting in your lungs at night with covers that don't allow dust to get through. Healthy food means have a balanced diet with lots of fresh food and avoid anything that doesn't exist in nature like saturated fat. It would also be smart to avoid foods that are high in acid and salt content, which can potentially damage cells. http://www.articlesbase.com/anti-aging-articles/forever-young-461828.html |
